That pizza box has been a bottomless pit for months, now. I started experimenting with turning large squares and triangles, originally earmarked for a mystery quilt project, into modified flying geese units earlier this year.
Since then, a grand total of four quilt tops used up all the squares and triangles from the pizza box. Along the way, scraps, yardage, and various other fabrics entered into the mix.
Making the pizza box disappear from my stash all by itself didn't make much of a dent . . . .
. . . However, when you add in the various scraps, background fabrics, printed panels, and backing and binding (to come) for four quilts, I'm pretty pleased to see all of these quilts find their way to completion.
A quilt shouldn't waste away in a pizza box, it belongs on a bed to keep someone warm.
This is the last quilt top. With an odd number of geese leftover, there were not enough geese for a whole quilt, but I made it work.
I can now recycle the cardboard pizza box and start thinking about the next plan of stash attack. Somewhere in between all that planning, I've got some sandwiching and quilting to do!
I'm not gonna lie, it'll be really good to move on from these geese! But when moving on means checking a box (a pizza box in this case) . . . well, there's nothing like that feeling of accomplishment!
