A couple weeks ago, I attended a quilt retreat and spent a whole week whittling away at the shelf full of partially finished projects and class samples. Last time, it was itty-bitty flying geese.
This time, it's four-patches and border fabric to empty another project pouch featuring the Table Stripes pattern from the first ScrapTherapy book.
I was surprised to find that the packet only contained a few scrappy light/dark four patch blocks and about a yard and one-half of the neutral-colored border print. Only one thing to do: I dove into the scrap bins and started building enough four patches for two table runners.
I used up every bit of the border print for each end and each side of both runners, leaving a few bits and pieces. Looks like a couple of mug rugs and some coasters to me!
When those are done, I can officially declare the packet empty. Oooh! I can almost feel the sense of accomplishment!
It seems I can never idle too long on that feeling of accomplishment without unearthing something else that needs attention . . .
This gem (below) has been idling in wait-mode for far too long. It's a lap-sized quilt project and it's is screaming for its own day in the sunlight. It seems to be begging to become a pattern series sometime in the very near future. . . . Just wait, I think you're going to like it! For now, you only get a little tease.
First, it needs a fresh border (check!) and some quilting (soon). Then we'll decide what to do next. Probably a PDF stash-friendly pattern series, but we'll see.
Stay tuned. . . .
