What will you be doing 18 months from now?
I can hear you shouting at the computer or mobile device screen:
18 months?!? You kiddin'? I don't even know what I'm having for dinner!
I know, I know, it seems like a long way off . . . but it will be here before we know it.
Here is what I'll be doing: In 18 months I'm finally headed to Hawaii on a quilt cruise! Yep, this is the same (basically) fabulous cruise that was cancelled (twice) in the year of thwarted travel plans, among other horrible things. January 2023 - a pretty sweet time of year to leave central New York and head someplace tropical!
I can't wait!
HOWEVER - I still have a lot to do. And 18 months should be just about enough time to get everything done!
For starters, I have to prepare final packaging for all the pre-cut fabric kits.
Our amazing, colorful, and uber fabulous quilt is a mystery that will unfold in a handful of easy lessons.
We'll sew while we're headed to and headed back from the Hawaiian Islands, and make a good dent on (perhaps finish) the project with time to relax on board.

The pattern is ready, but it needs to be printed and organized into the daily sewing plan.
Also to do: I need to make samples for each step, so we're all on the same sewing page as we make the quilt.
Then there are borders and finishing kits to finalize.
Massive amounts of goodies (including fabric kits and quilty prizes) need to be shipped.
And someone (me) has some desk work to do so fabric inventory is properly accounted for. I need to keep my accountant happy.

Once we get there, as the daughter of a WWII US Army Air Corps Veteran, and the wife of a WWII history fanatic, I have to visit the USS Arizona Memorial in Honolulu.

I hear that rainbows are 'a thing' in Hawaii, so it's on my list to experience as many rainbows as possible!

So you see, with my long to-do list, those 18 months are going to fly by.
I do have ONE THING for you to add to your to-do list. . . (Just one!)
You comin'?
Put it on your to-do list! . . . When? The trip is January 14-31, 2023; the time to make your reservation is now. . . before someone else takes your spot and is making YOUR quilt in 18 months!

Updates from the Sewing Studio
Last week, I ended my comments with an idea to make more split flying geese in a chevron pattern.
Back to the scrap boxes to pull out 5" squares, then cut them into matching rectangles and squares.
As you can see, I'm making progress in this new chevron version of the on-going wild hair.
And the Wild Hair that started it all is still on the sewing table.
More progress on the Nearly Insane blocks.
I re-drew number 26 to make the on point corners fit better than the original drawing. I'm pretty pleased with the result. This block looks simpler than it was to make!

# 27 is on deck. . . Lots of Y-seams on this one.
Needle, thread, and hand-piecing, rather than machine piecing seem to the be the ticket for this design.
Fun! And (almost) done!

I am signed up for this cruise. When will we receive a supply list and other information.
Thank you.
Very soon! I submitted the final supply list to Michelle last week.
Very soon! I sent Michelle my final supply list last week. Are you getting excited?
