This pattern provides finishing instructions for a collection of bird block kits from The FLOCK or The AfterFLOCK

The 48-page Big Day Quilt pattern includes block layouts for 17 different sized square and rectangular blocks, construction and fabric selection tips, organizational suggestions, and instructions to accommodate pieced blocks that might be too large or too small.  Also included, 8 block layouts to make projects ranging from a two-block wall-hanging to a 36-block king sized quilt. (12-block layout shown). Bird block kits or patterns are not included.

Description

This pattern is intended for use with The FLOCK blocks. The FLOCK is a collection of detailed patchwork-pieced bird block patterns available as laser pre-cut kits or PDF downloadable patterns, sold separately from the Hummingbird Highway. Originally, the kits were introduced one block per month over a five month period for a total of over 60 different bird block designs. Kits continue to be available as a monthly membership program or individually from the Hummingbird Highway.

The Big Day Pattern includes 8 different quilt/project layouts, ranging from a two-block runner/wall-hanging (28×43″) to a king-sized 36-block quilt (105×150″). Block instructions from The Big Day Quilt pattern accommodate 17 different square and rectangle sizes for the different bird species depicted in The FLOCK kits. This pattern could also be used to assemble a collection of varied orphan blocks. Bird patterns are purchased separately
