The FLOCK Lite – Hairy Woodpecker

The Hairy Woodpecker joined The FLOCK in February 2021. Hairy Woodpeckers share nearly all of their territory (most of North America) with their Downy Woodpecker cousins. The two species can be hard to differentiate because they are nearly identical in coloring. The biggest difference between the two is their body and beak size; Hairy is the larger on both counts.
