Oops!!
Every effort is made to be sure each ScrapTherapy pattern is free of error before it heads to the printer, and eventually to your sewing studio. Sometimes a little boo-boo sneaks past a series of sharp eyes. We’re so sorry when that happens! Scroll down to see a list of known corrections. If you find an error in a ScrapTherapy pattern, please send us an email and we will make a note of it here. Thanks for your understanding! (in no particular order):
ScrapTherapy, The Versatile Nine Patch
In the earliest printing of the book, on page 165, the Fabrics and Other Materials list for the Large Pouch for the Single-sided fusible batting scraps (4th item down) should read: 16″ square, 12″ x 14-1/2″ rectangle.
On page 142, the Recommended Materials chart for the “Citrus Coverlet” is missing in the first printing. This project may benefit from 12 panels of ScrapTherapy Little Scrap Grid Interfacing.
ScrapTherapy, Scraps Plus One!
In the earliest printings of the book, the pressing direction on two of the illustrations for the “99 Bottles” are incorrect. The arrows in the center of the illustration labeled number 5 on page 65 should point away from the center of the block, shown in red on the corrected illustration on the right.
Similarly, the illustration labeled number 6 on page 65 of the book, should follow the pressing direction shown in the second corrected illustration on the right. Note the positioning of the red arrows. In both cases, the description of the pressing configuration in the text is correct.
Also, on page 148 of the earliest printings of the book, illustration #13 for “Petal Pushers” had a few seam pressing arrows turned around. The correct illustration is on the left.
ScrapTherapy, Cut the Scraps!
In the earliest printings of the book, there is a bit of missing text on page 114, in the first column under the heading “Attach Handles to Main Panel” The third sentence under that heading should read: Place the handle loop on the main panel, centering it along the second pieced row from each (these next few words are missing) long side. Cover the pocket raw edges (then the text picks up again) with the handle and pin the handle . . . . Quilt Your Stash
On page 35 within the instructions to make the “Feedsack Peaks” quilt, the illustration labeled #8 is incorrect. The correct illustration is shown on the right. The illustrations for this same quilt in the book ScrapTherapy, Cut the Scraps! are correct.
Runaway Thread At the very bottom of page two, the second bullet from the bottom of the page should read as follows:
Make eighty (not sixteen) blocks, and set aside for border.
Also, on the back cover, the quantity of background fabric needed for the project is 4-1/4 yards, not 4 yards.
Sew Lovely On page 2 of the pattern, the third bullet from the top should read: Press seams toward the rich red as shown on right. Trim each half-square triangle unit to 3-1/2” square (unfinished). Also, on page 7 about half-way down the page under ‘Outer Borders’ heading, the first bullet should say: “Sew fifteen 2-1/2 x 5” prepared scraps. . . .” Note: Although this pattern may still be available at some shops, it has been discontinued.
Star Gazing On page two, you are directed to make ninety-six each of the star point units (7th bullet on the page) and block corner units (14th bullet on the page).
In fact, you will make one hundred ninety-two of each.
Triple Dip (quilt) In the earl iest printing, on page four, the second bullet from the top should say:
Similarly, sew three 5” outer border strips end-to-end using a diagonal seam. From six border strips, make two strips that measure approximately 5 x 120”. From one strip, cut two strips 5 x 47-1/2” for side outer borders. From the other strip, cut two strips 5 x 45-1/2” for top and bottom outer borders.
Note: Although this pattern may still be available at some shops, it has been discontinued.
