Progress continues on the four quilts that came from a pizza box full of fabrics that has been lingering on my storage shelves for years.
None of the four quilts are quite done yet, but they're getting there.
Two are quilted, and bound, and waiting for the binding fold to be sewn to the back of the quilt.
The quilting is in progress on the third in the series.
The fourth one is ready to be layered and basted as soon as I cut some batting to size.
Almost a year ago, I traded in my sewing machine for a BERNINA B770 Quilters Edition Pro, which may not mean much to you unless you're a BERNINA fan. It's still a sit-down machine that can handle piecing and quilting. Also, it includes a few nifty upgrades and, relevant to this topic, came with some new-to-me quilting tools - a ruler foot, some cool quilting rulers, plus enough fabric to make a quilt that I can practice on.
But, don't ya know, I just happen to have a quilt that would make a perfect candidate for practicing some new skills - once I review some of the online quilting-with-rulers course material, also included in the box of extra goodies!
Can an old dog learn new tricks? Well. . .I guess we'll have to give it a go and see what happens!
The even bigger question is why did it take me 11 months to open this magic box of goodies? It's a mystery.
