Piazza . . . A Stitchery Crossover Introductory Online Course
The second of two online Stitchery Crossover introductory courses, Piazza, a small one-block project, walks you through the entire process from start to finish.
This prerequisite course includes a lite kit (valued at $20) with only the most essential materials needed to make your first Stitchery Crossover block. The rest of the supplies needed to complete the project may be retrieved from your stitchy and quilty stash or purchased from the Hummingbird Highway, a la carte or in a premium kit bundle. A supply list of additional items not included in the lite kit appears below.
The online course breaks into 18 detailed lessons with lots and lots of close-up photos, thorough text, and short supplemental videos.
Learn and stitch at your own pace.
Please note: Instructional content is 100% online. You must have access to the internet to participate in this course.
Either Mia Rosa or Piazza is a prerequisite for future Stitchery Crossover courses.

The Piazza and Mia Rosa prerequisite courses are the only time a kit will be required for a Stitchery Crossover course from the Hummingbird Highway. You may add to your Piazza kit now, or wait and purchase a Premium Kit Upgrade or individual items to add to your kit.
Note that the Piazza kit includes only the most essential items needed to complete your Piazza project - two types of fabric, three different needles, one color of DMC six-stranded floss, and three spools (two different types) of thread.
Additional items needed for the project may already be in your stash or may be purchased separately - either from the Hummingbird Highway or sourced locally. The kit does not include finishing items such as batting, backing, or binding materials.
Please note that the cost to ship extra supplies outside of the US is prohibitive, therefore only the course (including the lite kit) are available for residents in Canada, the UK, and elsewhere.
Future Stitchery Crossover courses will NOT require a kit.

What to expect from the Piazza Course
Complete the Piazza Course and the project at your own pace. No deadlines, stress, or pressure.
Lots of close-up photographs, detailed written instructions, and short videos are found within the 18-lesson online course.
Also included: Optional participation in a private Stitchery Crossover facebook group and periodic Zoom meetings.
What makes Stitchery Crossover Projects so Unique? . . .
Time to Think! The blocks are 100% made with hand stitching, then assembled into a final project by hand or machine. This takes time.
By definition, a Stitchery Crossover project isn't a fast-finish endeavor. However, hand stitching and hand sewing are extremely relaxing and rewarding. There is no sewing machine buzz and everything is portable.
Dramatic Detail. No doubt about it, any Stitchery Crossover project, including Piazza, involves detail. But it's also a process with predictable and reliable steps. The course walks you through each step - 18 lessons and several topics within each lesson - with detailed photos and thorough instructions. The end result will invite closer inspection every time!
Bottom line, the Stitchery Crossover course isn't for everyone. Is it for you? Only you can decide! And I'll be right there for you if you need help.
