In a corner of my basement work room, I've got a couple shelves full of partially-started quilts. A few years back when I was on the road a lot, these parts and bits were my demonstration models for several different quilt work shops. Each project is stored away in its own storage box (like what you might use for in-progress scrap-booking pages).
Since I'm not traveling around to lead workshops any more (unless I'm on a ship traveling to Iceland!) These are perfect little grab-and-go projects to finish at a quilt retreat. Just so happens I'm headed to one of those this weekend.
For this trip. I am bringing waaa-a-ay more than I'll have time to work on. But you know the drill, right? A girl needs options! I think I counted four packages of goodies (plus a 'few' fat quarters and scraps 'just in case.') in this stack.
At least for the moment, one of the shelves in the basement work room is looking sparse. That's progress.
Until I get back home.
Then, we'll see what goes back on the shelf for the next next time.
The last time I did this, that same shelf gave up two citrus-themed quilts that went to Sleep in Heavenly Peace. A win all the way around.
