About a week ago in the middle of my blissful sleep, I rolled over and my hand felt something a little off. My bleary, half-asleep brain said, 'is that a hole?'
Yep. Sure is!
A bit later as I was making the bed and getting a closer look, I gasped and for the first time in a long time I really took notice.
Not just one hole, but several holes, weak spots, and really faded fabric. There is a grand total of 6 pillows (and six completely tired pillow cases) on our bed. I can't tell you how many years ago I made these pillow cases, but it has been a few.
If you walk into my basement work room, you might be a bit shocked at the state of those pillow cases compared to the bolts and bolts of fabric stored neatly (mostly) on the shelves. Surely there is enough to cut a few yards for some long overdue pillow cases. . . .right??
After a facepalm or two, I felt a little like the proverbial cobbler whose kids go without shoes.
Cut, cut, cut.
Now there are six tidy little pillowcase 'kits' smack in the middle of my sewing table. Ready to sew.
