I've been making slow and steady progress on four quilt projects on my table lately. During my morning sewing sessions, the stack of blocks for each project is growing, one step at a time during my daily early morning sewing sessions.
This week, I added one more project to the progression.
For months, I've been working on creating the wool applique blocks on cotton for the Iceland cruise. With the cruise just about six months away, I'm coming down to the finish-up stages for the kits and the instructions. This week, I hit a huge milestone by completing all of the 12 hand-appliqued blocks, each one representing a different aspect of the trip. It's now time to switch to the sewing machine to finalize the project.
Yesterday morning, before the sun was up, I arranged the blocks into two different layouts:
Long and skinny, or . . .
Short and squatty.
Which one will it be? . . . time will tell . . .
Each block will be bordered, then sewn together. However, the other four in-progress projects refuse to give up their space in the chain-pieced queue.
Instead of four quilts in the step-by-step sequence, there are now five.
What's one more?
