Jewels of the North (pdfs)

This pattern provides all the instructions needed to create and finish twelve 6×6″ (finished size) wool applique blocks (on quilting cotton backgrounds) featuring iconic motifs from Iceland, Norway, Scotland, and the Netherlands. The project was originally designed to represent a collection of memories from the quilt cruise during the summer of 2025. Complete one, several, or all of the blocks. Create your own quilt from memories from a similar journey, from family history, or just because!

The Jewels of the North PDF pattern includes instructions to complete the finished blocks into a wall-hanging. Go rogue and create bags, pillows, or other quilted projects from your favorites from the collection of 12 block patterns. 

Use your fabric and perle cotton thread stash for the block backgrounds, borders, and thread embellishments. Limited quantities of 6×6″ felted wool from Wooly Lady are available here to supplement your wool stash. Packs of needle-friendly Soft Fuse Premium (six 8-1/2x 11″ sheets cut from the roll), enough to create all 12 wool applique blocks, can be found here, and my favorite needles, Wonder Needles, are my newest go-to needle for embroidery for a variety of thread weights and you can find them here.
