In between preparations for a long-delayed quilt cruise that departs this weekend, I managed to get in a tiny bit of sewing this week. The outer borders are sewn to my 12-block version of The Big Day Quilt. The Big Day pattern, featuring blocks from The FLOCK collection will be available from the Hummingbird Highway later this year.
Meanwhile, with the piecing done, the next challenge is quilting this sample. Stay tuned!

Earlier this year, Dave and I traveled to Croatia, Slovenia, and Montenegro. In Hvar, we visited a monastery whose nuns specialize in making lace from the fibers of the agave plant as part of their devotions. I purchased a piece of lace.
The piece has been framed and it's now, as of this weekend, hanging in my sewing studio along with special-to-me hummingbird-themed items.
I feel that these two projects put things in order in the sewing room, and I can relax while focusing on the upcoming cruise classes and tour.
I'll be back in a couple weeks . . . until then. . .
