Since I've been back from vacation, I have had the 'spinnies.' I can't seem to get my brain back in production mode. I've certainly started a lot of things, and then put them down.
And started other things, only to be distracted by something else.
Sometimes it helps to calm my mind down to go for a walk. And we certainly had perfect mind-clearing walking weather this past weekend.

Being outside and enjoying nature makes my mind wander.
For example, while in Europe, we frequently encountered biodegradable wooden utensils and paper straws instead of plastic stuff that never goes away in our landfills.
And I think, 'why can't we do better in the US with this kinda thing?'
The mind-stream then pops over to making ornaments with a quilt that I never quite fell in love with.
At least I can re-purpose and re-use a little bit of my stash.
Every little bit helps, right?

Almost immediately, *Boop!* and my head shifts to finishing up heart ornaments for the local hospice.
At the same time, I get a little stressy because I need to make turn these projects into patterns.
These are really fun, small, portable projects. I think you'll like making them, too. I need to make progress on pattern-writing. . .
. . . But not before I make more forward progress on that purple pinwheel quilt.
The quilt is progressing well, but it takes about an hour to secure the appliquéd flowers made from Sue Pelland's Leaves Galore templates.
With about 20 more flowers to secure, I'll be ready for the next step (more quilting) in about two weeks.

Wait!
Put the purples aside, I've got a new bird sample to make for The FLOCK.
I need the sample ASAP so I can take a photo and print the pattern.
Oooh! This bird for August is SO fun. And it's one that has been requested several times!
Focus! Focus! Focus!
That's the 'spinnies.'
It's like a stream-of-consciousness, mush of flitting from one thing to the next without really accomplishing much of anything in the process.
And I'm not sure how to break the spell.
Can you relate?
