I have a secret!
Well, it's really not that much of a secret. Maybe we should call it a new-to-me secret since I only recently learned this slick trick to remove pencil on cotton quilting fabric.
For a little backstory, when finishing a Heart Fulls ornament, in the assembly tips, I recommend making a small mark at the top and bottom heart points with a pencil. This makes it ever-so-easy to line everything up in the final steps.
But sometimes you can see the little pencil mark.

Here's a slick trick to remove the mark.
Grab a piece of regular old adhesive tape - the kind you use for gift-wrapping this time of year - and a blunt tool like an aficot or purple thang. Nothing too pointy.
Place the tape on the mark and rub.

Lift the tape and along with it, the mark! Repeat these steps a couple times until the mark is gone or nearly gone and no longer noticeable.

Move the tape a little bit each time so you don't undo what you just undid.
Wah-laa!
(Or you can use the more technical term . . . "Voila!")

With the mark gone, or greatly diminished, carry on with the rest of the process to complete the heart (or whatever project you're working on that is now pencil-mark free!)
What? You haven't made a heart ornament yet? What are you waiting for?! Click here to learn more! Click here to shop! ('Tis the season!)
(Unfortunately, the cute puppy print is not a kit, this fabric came from my stash.)
