I am starting to see the bottom of that 'magic box' full of projects that was pulled off the shelf in my sewing studio a few weeks ago.
From a stack of cut but not sewn and partially sewn half-square triangle units stored in the box, scrap fabrics were added and enough HSTs were made to make six placemats.
As you can see, I've been busy with the last step - the quilting.
Four placemats are done and stacked neatly. Two more are on deck to be quilted.
Not much fabric is left from the stacks of coordinates from the box and from the extra coordinates pulled from stash. Once a couple labels are done, these can be re-integrated back where they belong in for the next project. Some of this might be cut up into the scrap bins, but most of it will get sorted into bigger scrap storage - not quite yardage and not quite scraps.
One more project remains in the box before I move on to the next big task, and I have to confess, I'm not quite sure what to do with this last piece. It's a small quilt top that is a bit too large for a placemat and a bit too small for a useful quilt. And the colors and fabrics don't float my boat.
I may have to let this one percolate while I get caught up on some quilting and wait to see what comes next. Don't we love a mystery?
