I'm still on a binge to finish up and clear out the quilts on a laundry rack storage unit in my basement workroom with progress to report.
The quilt with the cherry print is quilted, bound, and ready for its label. I usually don't wash a quilt after it's done and before it's gifted, but this one has a tiny bit of soil on it (note the small circle center right). I marked the spot with a pin and I'll treat it with stain remover before I give it a spin in the washer and dryer. Then it's ready for a bed.
I like to hold off from washing as long as I can because every time the quilt is washed it loses a little color, but if it's dirty, then in it goes - cool water wash, gentle dry--I include washing instructions on the label, also.
The scrappy zigzag quilt is almost done with just the outer border left to quilt. Then binding and a label. I might add a little more quilting in the center, and then again, I might not.
This purple-bordered quilt is now pin-basted, too, and it is next in line for quilting. But I may give myself a break and switch to piecing after the zigzag is done. I like to mix it up a little bit for my morning sewing sessions to keep things fresh.
These are all headed to Sleep in Heavenly Peace once they're done. For a finisher like me, to move these quilts on is a big deal.
Do you have a stitchy 'big deal' for this week?
